International Women's Day

How long have you been in business?

I’ve been in business since June 2017.

What was the trigger that made your start your business?

My business started completely by accident! A friend who owns a juice bar tasted my homemade, organic and super clean granola and insisted that I start producing it in bulk for her smoothies and açai bowls. From there she suggested we make individual bags for customers to buy and use at home and the rest is history!

What motivates you to wake up every day?
My dog Mack motivates me to wake up at 4:45am to let him out!!! He doesn’t really give me a choice. (That and planning that day’s Instagram post).

If there is one sentence that defines you, what would that be?

Lately the one sentence that defines me is: “The unexpected is what brings the unbelievable.”

What defines/characterises you as a woman?

Being a strong, independent, passionate, caring and loving person defines me as a woman. Showing my daughters Emma & Sophie that women should aspire to achieve everything men can (and often – more!!) motivates me every day.

Who is your role model/inspiration, and why?

Every single entrepreneur out there inspires me. It takes so much hard work, grit and passion to make a success out of a dream and sometimes that’s not even enough.

What does international Women’s Day mean to you?

International Women’s Day inspires me but at the same time saddens me. The fact that in 2018 we still need an International Women’s Day to celebrate all the incredible achievements women have accomplished seems like it should be unnecessary. But any day that we get to revel in these successes and show our daughters that they can achieve whatever they want is a good day!
