Camerises Mistouk was created from the passion for haskap and spices from the boreal region. The haskap, a fruit grown in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, is a remarkable success. Its intense taste is akin to a mixture of cranberry, rhubarb, blackcurrant and raspberry. Indeed, this fruit and boreal spices are promising and possess some of the most interesting characteristics such as antioxidants, vitamins and especially complex tastes and aromas.

The Saguenay Lac-St-Jean and its boreal territories are rich in well-hidden treasures. Flowers, roots, seeds, leaves, thorns, mosses and seaweed are all ingredients waiting to be discovered.

All of those reasons have motivated them to create high quality products with unique tastes. The use of other ingredients from the region is one aspect that makes Camerises Mistouk an innovative company that offers remarkable and flavourful tastes in all their products. Their recipes are healthy, GMO free, synthetic preservatives and additive free and are certified Aliments Québec.

MEET DOMINIQUE

Camerises MistoukWith a rich background in marketing and communication, Dominique's experience has led him to work on several projects related to the food industry from a sales, production and marketing perspective, thus exposing him to the field of distribution, public relations, human resources and general management.

He has experience in the restaurant industry as owner of a restaurant as well as in the production and distribution fields of the food and beverage sector.

This, combined with the fact that very few companies exploit haskap, a small fruit with an exceptional taste and rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that grow in Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, led him to launch Camerises Mistouk.

Since then, Dominique has invested in the development of products based on haskap: jams, jelly, butter, products for cocktails, vinaigrette, mustard, hot sauces, spread without sugar. The products highlight a blend of local flavours and treasures offered by the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean forest. A know-how inspired by the family culinary traditions and origins of its creator, who are French, Amerindian and Scottish.

His work has been honored by the Table Agroalimentaire and the Chamber of Commerce with various nominations, and was a winner in the category "long-life product" of the CTAQ.
